Baseball Fields Were A Special Place

The Dixie Youth baseball fields were a special place for Tim Turner. The longtime East Montgomery league coach spent much of his adult life there, teaching the game of baseball and touching lives. Turner died Thursday (April 13, 2006) at the age of 36 after a long fight with cancer.
Timothy Ray Turner, "Coach Turner", 36 years old, born July 10, 1969, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006, due to complications from his battle with a long term illness.
Tim coached many of Montgomery's youth over the last 16 years. In recent years, coaching the Junior Varsity Baseball, Middle School Basketball and Football teams at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory Middle School. Additionally, Tim was the proud coach of a successful travel baseball team known as the "East Montgomery Jackets". Prior to his illness, Tim worked for Coca Cola Bottling in Montgomery.
